12. Joe Zucker _ Unhinged

Zucker's art most often relates to the innovative use of materials. Cotton balls, rubber bands, string, sheetrock: this group of paintings are storage boxes with lids. The paint is poured into lattice-like sections that form shapes of ships, houses, and volcanoes. By tilting the box this way and that, "the object itself does the painting."
