19. Joe Zucker_ Container Ships_ Open Storage_New Paintings

Two catalogues in one for concurrent shows at David Nolan Gallery and Paul Kasmin Gallery. Essay by Linda Jablonsky. The paintings are concerned with the subject of art storage. Two panel paintings that not only serve as their own frames, but when the panels are closed, they become their own crates. The "Container Ships" drawings show ships carrying rolled up canvases and crates storing painting — hundreds of paintings sailing to destinations unkown.
